Low temperatures but it is almost the month of May and flat racing is getting serious!
Snowdrop (nearside) is learning how to be a racehorse (Declan Mc Donogh up)

All but one foal are safely delivered and there is an exciting year ahead for Swordlestown Little breds!

The foaling season has gone in a flash and it certainly has not been easy. The mild winter allowed the mares to cycle throughout and when it got cold lately some of them found it very hard to conceive. However, we are getting there and have some very nice pregnancies for next year.

The most exciting news is the foundation of our Snowdrop Racing Syndicate which will race our homebred Lilbourne Lad ex Khatela filly. She is in training with John Oxx and doing everything she is asked in a very pleasing fashion. We visited with Photographer and Friend Scarlett Schaer last week and all the photos in this newspage are taken by Scarlett, many thanks! We will have some fun times and very good culinary experiences are guaranteed too for anyone visiting Swordlestown Little!  Many thanks to our friends for joining us in this new and exciting venture!

Dinozzo (Lilbourne Lad - Nisriyna)  kept the flag flying in Hong Kong over the winter months and ended up with three wins and some nice placings too, including a fourth in a Gr.3. Hopefully he will get stronger in time and his breeding suggests that there is some improvement to come. All in all there are sixteen homebreds in training, all over the world, from Ireland to England, Hong Kong and Japan!

Transformation!

The 2017 crop is almost complete, the only one missing being the Ezalli foal by Make Believe. We have some lovely foals again, the  stand outs are the fillies by Kodiac ex Dhuma and the Kitten's Joy ex Bluebell. Sogno Verde did not let the side down and again produced a lovely filly by exciting first season sire Gleneagles and Nisriyna had a very correct and big colt by Kodiac.

Born last week were Kodiac - Nisriyna colt, Gleneagles filly and two Born to Seas.

Two Kodiacs: colt ex Nisriyna (l) and Twinkle ex Dhuma (r)

Everyone is helping to bring in!
